Book-to-Business Strategy

You Wrote the Book. Now What?

You've written a book, or you're well along on one. Your business is established. But are they actually working together?

You put an enormous amount of time, thought, and expertise into writing your book. And somewhere along the way came the question nobody really prepared you for:

What am I supposed to do with it now?

Maybe the book gets a mention on your website, or comes up when you're speaking with potential clients. Maybe you've thought about a newsletter, workshop, or course.

But there's a difference between having a book and a business, and having a book that plays a meaningful role inside your business.

That's the gap the Book-to-Business Strategy is designed to help you bridge.

Start Your Book-to-Business Strategy

Your book doesn't need more random marketing ideas.

You can find endless advice about what authors should be doing:

  • Start a podcast.
  • Build a funnel.
  • Create a course.
  • Post more content.
  • Get on stages.
  • Build an email list.
  • Turn the book into a lead magnet.

There are hundreds of possibilities, and the real question isn't “What could you do with your book?” The better question is:

What makes sense for your book, your business, and what you're trying to accomplish?

That's what we'll figure out together.

The Book-to-Business Strategy

This is a focused strategy engagement for established experts with a nonfiction book, or substantial manuscript, connected to their professional expertise, informed by focused research into what's happening outside it. Together, we'll look at:

Your Book

What you've created, who it's for, the ideas or frameworks it contains, and what you originally hoped it would make possible.

Your Business

What you already offer, who you serve, and the assets and pathways you already have in place.

The gap between them

What happens after someone discovers or reads your book? Is there an obvious next step?

  • Does the book naturally connect to your services, speaking, workshops, programs, newsletter, or other parts of your business?

The Work You Do

The goal isn't to build more. It's to create the right connection between your book and the business you've already built.

What makes sense next

Rather than giving you dozens of things you could do, we'll identify a small number of practical opportunities that fit your goals, business, and capacity.

Then I'll turn what we uncover into a clear plan for the next 90 days.

What we'll do

01

Focused Intake

Before we meet, you'll complete a focused intake covering your book, business, existing offers and assets, what you originally hoped the book would accomplish, and what's happening now. You'll also provide your book, or substantial manuscript if it isn't out yet, and links to the relevant pieces of your business.

02

Strategic Review + Focused Signal Research

I'll review your intake, book or manuscript, website, offers, and relevant existing assets, then do focused research outside your business, bounded by the question we're answering, such as how your audience talks about the problem or what's already out there. This isn't a technical marketing audit or a market study. It's enough outside evidence to notice relevant patterns and signals and make a better-informed recommendation.

03

60-Minute Private Strategy Session

We'll meet one-on-one for a 60-minute working session, focused on what you wanted the book to accomplish, what's happening now, where the disconnects are, and what's most worth pursuing. This isn't a presentation. It's a working conversation designed to help us get clear about the role your book can realistically play in your business.

04

Your Book-to-Business Roadmap

After our session, I'll pull together your concise, personalized roadmap and send it your way. Here's what it includes.

Your Book-to-Business Roadmap

What I'm Seeing

The important patterns and connections from your book, your business, and the focused research around them, including the role your book can realistically play and where things stand now.

Opportunities Worth Exploring

Not twenty ideas. A small number of possibilities worth exploring, including your Reader-to-Business Pathway: what should happen after someone encounters your book, and how that connects to the business.

What I Recommend

My prioritized recommendation for what deserves your attention, connection, creation, or testing next, and why, including what needs to exist to support it.

Your Next 90 Days

What to do or test first, what can follow, and what can wait.

Not Now

Good ideas that don't deserve your attention yet.

You'll also have seven days after delivery to email clarification questions about your roadmap.

This is for you if...

You're an established consultant, coach, speaker, advisor, educator, founder, or other expert-led business owner.

You've already built a real business around your expertise, and you have a nonfiction book connected to that expertise, whether it's published, about to be, or a substantial manuscript you're well along on.

And now you're wondering:

How should this book actually support the business I've already built?

You don't need another giant marketing strategy. You need clarity about the book's role, what's missing, and what to do next.

Have a substantial manuscript?

You don't have to be published yet. If your manuscript is far enough along that the core ideas, framework, audience, and purpose are clear, Book-to-Business Strategy can help you think through how the book connects to the business you're already building.

This engagement does not include manuscript development, editorial feedback, publishing strategy, or launch planning. I review the manuscript for the ideas, frameworks, audience connections, and business possibilities it contains.

This probably isn't for you if...

  • Your primary goal is simply to sell more copies of your book.
  • You're looking for someone to run book advertising, publicity, PR, or launch campaigns.
  • You want guaranteed leads, speaking engagements, book sales, or revenue.
  • Your book is still an early idea rather than a substantial manuscript.
  • You're starting a business from scratch and need someone to determine the entire business model for you.

Book-to-Business starts with an established business and asks how your book can become a more intentional part of it.

About Ronda

I've spent more than 40 years helping complex ideas become clear, useful, and well built.

My experience crosses publishing, book design, content, websites, marketing communications, interactive tools, and emerging technology, so I tend to look at both:

the substance of what an expert knowsand the different forms that knowledge could take.

Sometimes the right answer is an assessment, a resource, a better page or reader pathway, or content. And sometimes the smartest recommendation is:

Don't build anything new yet.

The build matters. The judgment before the build is what makes it useful.

And if something needs to be built?

Sometimes the strategy will reveal that an important piece is missing. That might be a:

  • reader resource or lead magnet
  • landing page
  • speaking page
  • newsletter or email pathway
  • workshop page
  • website update
  • interactive resource
  • other digital asset

The Book-to-Business Strategy identifies what you need and why it matters. Implementation isn't included. If it's a good fit, I may propose a separate HeartWork project for the piece afterward, with no obligation to continue.

A note about this work

The Book-to-Business Strategy reflects professional judgment informed by your book, your business, relevant existing assets, and focused public audience and market signals, not a formula or a guarantee.

Those signals offer context and patterns worth noticing, not proof of demand. Execution, timing, market conditions, and your own decisions all affect what happens next, so specific outcomes such as leads, sales, speaking opportunities, or revenue can't be promised.

I'm opening the first three engagements as founding pilots while I refine this new HeartWork service, and I'd welcome your candid feedback: what was most useful, what wasn't, and what could make the process stronger.

You already did the hard part: you wrote the book.

Now let's figure out where it belongs in the business you've already built, and what needs to happen next.
